... is resolved by downgrading cygwin.dll to a previous version ... It seems that now and again cygwin releases the base dll that causes d2c to segfault. This happenned before. I have no idea why. :-( Cheers, Alex. -- Gd-hackers mailing list Gd-hackers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://www.gwydiondylan.org/mailman/listinfo/gd-hackers

Hi all, Stephan Rupp pointed out a few bugs in the Debian packages I posted last time. New packages have been uploaded which address these issues: http://bokeoa.com/~core/files/beyond_unstable_debian/gwydion-dylan_2.4.1pre1-2_i386.deb http://bokeoa.com/~core/files/beyond_unstable_debian/mindy_2.4.1pre1-2_i386.deb Any comments or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help and support. Best Regards, Charlie Stevenson aka core -- Gd-hackers mailing list Gd-hackers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://www.gwydiondylan.org/mailman/listinfo/gd-hackers

Hi all, So Andreas talked me into working on the Debian packages for Gwydion Dylan (and perhaps Open Dylan eventually). I've been sorting things out to the best of my knowledge and ability and produced two packages which should be considered unstable (that might be an understatement). Before I send it off to my Debian Sponsor and get yelled at terribly for not having reached Debian Policy proficiency I thought I would ask if anyone out there has a Debian box and is willing to test a couple packages. Basically, when I jumped into IRC I was hoping to learn Dylan and so I feel no shame is saying that I really have no clue as to how to validate the results of my two days of labor. ;-) http://bokeoa.com/~core/files/beyond_unstable_debian/gwydion-dylan_2.4.1pre1-1_i386.deb http://bokeoa.com/~core/files/beyond_unstable_debian/mindy_2.4.1pre1-1_i386.deb I look forward to your feedback and could really use your help to make the best packages possible. Best Regards, Charlie Stevenson or core if you like... or charlie... *yawn* peace -- Gd-hackers mailing list Gd-hackers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://www.gwydiondylan.org/mailman/listinfo/gd-hackers

Hello, our Debian maintainer seems to be missing in action: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=342860 As a result, the Gwydion Dylan package dropped out of Debian Unstable (and in fact, never made it to the Stable release). We're looking for a new maintainer for the Debian platform. Former experience with Debian packages and procedures would be welcome, but isn't required. If you are interested, please let us know. Hi! For those who don't follow the IRC: Hannes hass been working on porting Open Dylan to FreeBSD (with a little assistance from my side). The changes to the source tree need to be cleaned up and comitted back to the subversion trunk, but if you can't wait and want to play now, you can get a compiler binary and patches from: http://www.gwydiondylan.org/~hannes/opendylan-freebsd/ Let us know whether that works for you. I checkout. Then I do "autogen". Then I do "make". Then I do "make install". Then I run d2c it produces (presumably it is going to be needed by the next stage to actually build the compiler). Unfortunately, it dies with segfault. The first "make" with seems to work without errors and takes ~3 hours and seems to finish fine. But what it produces on Cygwin is a d2c that crashes with segfault. Dybug also segfaults. Mindy doesn't segfault. Any ideas? Otherwise, it seems that GD_2_4 *doesn't work* on Cygwin and given that 2.5 doesn't either - none of it works. :-( Cheers, Alex. -- Gd-hackers mailing list Gd-hackers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://www.gwydiondylan.org/mailman/listinfo/gd-hackers

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, gwydiondylan is moving from gauss.gwydiondylan.org (which is a sun e450, 2 * 300 MHz, running FreeBSD, located in nuremburg) to leibniz.gwydiondylan.org (which is a IBM netfinity 4000R, 2 * 650 MHz, 1 GB RAM, running Debian Linux, located in Berlin). So, d2c and opendylan are running on leibniz, I would be happy to have www.gwydiondylan.org running on koala in the near future (the major work would be CGI support for koala, then we can run bugzilla, viewcvs, etc. via that interface). Nearly all services are moved, next I'll shut down services (apart from www) on gauss, sync data (mysql, svn,...) a last time and change dns records to point to the new server. So, expect a smooth migration, but some services might be unavailable for a few hours. If you encounter anything which shouldn't happen, please mail me or contact me via jabber (hannes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).
